Stadium lighting design is to rely on the function of light, reasonable effect on the vision of players, referees, spectators. To enable athletes to focus on the full performance of their competition level and create good results; So that the referee can quickly make an accurate judgment; So that the audience can easily enjoy the technical play of the sport, feel the fierce and lively competitive atmosphere on the field, so that the picture of the color TV broadcast is clear and vivid. The standard ice hockey field specification is 60 meters long, 30 meters wide, the angular arc radius is 8.5 meters, and the ice hockey field is surrounded by 1.15-1.12 meters of wood or plastic material made of solid boundary walls. All ice surfaces and boundary walls shall be white, with the puck 1.83 meters wide and 1.22 meters high, and the deepest part of the goal not greater than 1 meter or less than 60 meters. Lighting Design

In order to ensure that the ice players and spectators can track the fast moving athletes and see the detailed movements of the athletes, the ice sports competition must have a high level of lighting, especially in large stadiums, because the distance between the audience and the sports field is quite far, in order to see the game, especially to see the small details of the action, ice sports need a high level of lighting. The visibility of a moving object depends on the size, speed, and brightness contrast of the object and its background and ambient brightness.

If not for TV televising, the Indoor Sports Lighting Levels EN 12193:2007 requires the illuminance level of the Hockey Field is the Class I 1000lux, Class II 500lux and the Class III 300lux.

1, the classification of sports sports in indoor stadiums are generally divided into two categories. One is the movement that mainly uses space, and the other is the movement that mainly uses low position. Therefore, in the lighting design should pay attention to the characteristics of different movements and treat separately. Usually gymnasiums are used for comprehensive purposes, and are divided into small and medium-sized gymnasiums, large gymnasiums and color TV broadcasting gymnasiums according to the size of the scale.

2, the basic principles of stadium lighting design: for stadium lighting design, designers must first understand and master the requirements of stadium lighting: illuminance standards and lighting quality. Then it is necessary to determine the lighting scheme according to the height and position of the lamps that may be installed in the stadium building structure. Due to the limitation of the height of the stadium space, it is necessary to meet the illumination standard and the lighting quality requirements, so the lamps with reasonable light distribution, suitable distance ratio and strict brightness limit should be selected.

When the installation height of the lamp is less than 6 meters, it is appropriate to choose small wattage LED stadium light, like Romanso 300W 150LM/W LED sports light can be mounted on 8-10 meters/26-32.8 feets, 500W fits for 12-15 meters/40-50 feets, and 800W suitables for 18 meters/60 feets. 3. The lighting layout of the ice sports arena has its particularity. The layout of the lamps and the direction of light projection have a decisive impact on the lighting quality. The lighting fixtures of the sports arena should be used in the following ways:

1) Single uniform lighting mode is a single lamp evenly arranged over the sports field, generally used for basketball, handball, table tennis, gymnastics, hockey, ice sports, judo, wrestling, martial arts and other small and medium-sized gymnasiums. This way of lighting is more economical, but the three-dimensional sense of lighting is poor.

2) Group uniform lighting mode means that several single lamps form a group, evenly arranged in the sports field above, generally used for basketball, handball, table tennis, gymnastics, hockey, ice sports, judo, wrestling, martial arts and other small and medium-sized stadiums and large stadiums with relatively high height. This way of lighting is more economical. But if we'd like to achieve great uniformity and no shadow light, the Dialux lighting solution designed is necessary and very important. 3) Combination lighting (single light uniform lighting + side lighting) Combination lighting is a combination of single light uniform lighting and side lighting, suitable for all indoor projects, through different combinations of light control modes, can meet the large stadium and high vertical illumination requirements for color TV broadcast gymnasium. There is a good three-dimensional lighting sense. When combining the lighting mode, the lamps should be selected in accordance with the above principles of "single lamp uniform lighting" and "side lighting lighting". Indirect lighting is a more comfortable lighting method, the lamp does not directly illuminate the sports field, but through the reflected light to achieve field lighting. This lighting method requires the top of the stadium to be a high reflectivity material, while the top height should not be less than 10 meters, the installation height of the lamp should be higher than the normal line of sight of the athletes and spectators, in order to control the direct glare of the lamp. Generally used for badminton, swimming and other projects, not suitable for venues with color TV transmission requirements.

In a word, the lighting design of the ice hockey arena should pay attention to several points:

First, improve the illumination near the goal, because the vicinity of the goal is the focus of the competition between the two sides. There are many personnel, and the ball is converted quickly. However, improving lighting cannot sacrifice illumination uniformity. Typically, the pitch between the luminaires dedicated to the playing field in the goal area can be reduced, or a light source with a higher light output can be taken near the goal.

Second, the special lights for the sports field should not be installed on the short side of the ice rink to avoid causing reflected glare on the ice surface.
