Brightness and glare

The function of television is somewhat similar to that of human vision. Both the camera and the human eye use the perceived light intensity as brightness. So the contrast of the picture and its background are important for the picture quality. On the one hand, a good picture cannot be obtained due to the lack of sufficient contrast; On the other hand, it is difficult to deal with light and shade, which also hinders the production of high-quality pictures. Brightness and glare are very important for the visual comfort of athletes and spectators. To avoid the background being too dark, part of the light should be directed at the stands. The average level illuminance of the grandstand seats should meet the requirement of 100 lx, and the illuminance of the chairman's table should not fall below 200 lx. The vertical illumination of the spectator seats near the first 12 rows (15 rows) of the competition area should not be lower than 25% of the vertical illumination of the field. This not only reduces glare from spectators in the opposite stands, but also makes the picture quality more favorable due to the bright background of the stands.
